A 5-year-old Dolly Parton fan from central New York showed her love for the country queen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Violet Burdick and her dad Ryan, who are from Jamesville, New York appeared on Ellen Monday, November 30th. Violet is a big fan of Dolly and told Ellen she knows a lot about her. She knows about Dolly's coat of many colors the kids made fun of, the donation Dolly made to find a coronavirus vaccine. "She has a beautiful voice and gives books to kids in need," said Violet.

Some of Violet's favorite books have come from Dolly's Imagination Library. "She's fallen in love with her," Violet's dad Ryan said. "Dolly's a lovable person."

It's not just the books Violet loves. It's her music too. Ryan is a musician, so he started playing Dolly songs for Violet. One of her favorites is 'Jolene,' and Violet knows what it's all about. "Jolene is a girl who wanted to take Dolly's man," she told Ellen before singing the classic with her dad.

After the adorable performance, Ellen surprised Violet and her family with an all expenses paid trip to Dollywood in Tennessee.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income. It began in 1995 when books were given to children where Dolly grew up in Sevier County, Tennessee. By 2003 one million books were handed out and the program expanded to Canada in 2006 followed by the United Kingdom in 2007, Australia in 2013 and the Republic of Ireland in 2019.
