The East Coast is bracing for another storm.  Winter storm Athena is bringing high winds, rain and snow; just what the East Coast needs as they recover from Sandy.

Long Island is already seeing heavy rainfall that will mix with snow in the early morning hours.  Winds of 60 MPH are also expected.

In New York City and New Jersey, a rain/snow mix is expected with 50+ mph winds.

Mandatory evacuations have been issued for sections of Brick Township in New Jersey.  Residents living in low lying waterfront areas were asked to take shelter last night.

Four healthcare facilities in the Rockaways region of New York City have also been evacuated, as a precaution to protect the health and safety of residents and staff.

Coastal flooding is anticipated in areas already under water in New Jersey and New York.

Our area may once again escape the brunt of the storm.  Snow is in the forecast for Central New York but little to no accumulation is expected.
