Kayla Calabrese is a quickly rising Country Music star and she traveled all the way here from Music City, USA to hang out and play us her new single, "This Is How It Feels!" Kayla was born and raised in New Jersey and didn't realize her dream of being a singer

Growing up on the beach, I kind of wanted to tie in water themes to a love song.

until she was 16. This discovery came when she was in New York City seeing her favorite Broadway Musical "Wicked." After that her journey began. She told her mom, who has no musical talent according to her, that she wanted to take voice lessons and three years later she moved to Nashville. One of her biggest inspirations is Martina McBride.

Her latest single, "This Is How It Feels," she co-wrote with a woman named Tami Hinesh. "Growing up on the beach, I kind of wanted to tie in water themes to a love song," said Calabrese of her new song. If you want to get in the mood for warmer weather, this is the song you need to hear!

Kayla's Talented Guitarist, Ethan Blair, did a little pre-interview rockin' to Brantley Gilbert's "Bottoms Up."

I decided when I moved to Nashville, I'd be kind of smart about the whole thing and have a Plan B.

Kayla isn't just an incredibly talented musician, she is also a registered nurse! She says, "I decided when I moved to Nashville, I'd be kind of smart about the whole thing and have a Plan B." Ultimately if the music career doesn't work out (I don't see that happening), that she wants to work in a neonatal ICU. This desire came from her own life experience. She and her twin brother Ryan were both premies. She weighed only 3 pounds 9 ounces when born.

Kayla Calabrese is currently being represented by renowned music producer Kent Wells who has worked with both Dolly Parton and Neal McCoy.
