Unfortunately, Thomas Rhett will be spending the weekend in bed rather than onstage. Doctors ordered the ‘Beer With Jesus’ singer to cancel his weekend performances after diagnosing him with Tonsillitis and Mononucleosis, according to a post on his official Facebook page.

Understandably, the singer wasn’t happy to share the news with fans. “I was really looking forward to Atlanta and Charlotte with Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert this weekend,” Rhett said in a statement. “Cannot wait to get back and see the fans.”

Rhett will no longer appear Friday night (August 24) in Atlanta Ga. at Aaron’s Amphitheatre or for Saturday’s (Aug. 25) scheduled performance in Charlotte, N.C. at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Both dates are part of Toby Keith‘s Live in Overdrive Tour, also featuring Brantley Gilbert. The shows will continue as planned, only without Rhett.

The ‘Something to Do With My Hands’ singer is hopeful that he’ll be able to hop back aboard the tour starting next weekend, when it stops in Missouri and Illinois.
