Since November, Rodney Atkins has been embroiled in a bitter marital dispute that is in the process of ending in a divorce. The country singer was arrested Nov. 21 after his wife called 911 accusing her husband of trying to smother her with a pillow, among other things. The ‘Take a Back Road’ singer was taken into custody and then released on a $2,500 bail and in February was acquitted from the charges.

Scotty McCreery is setting new chart records with his debut album. 'Clear As Day' is atop the Billboard 200, making him the first country star to land at #1 on the chart with their debut CD. Scotty is also the youngest man at #1. He just turned 18 four days ago. The CD sold over 195 thousand copies, for the biggest first week sales for an 'Idol' winner since David Cook in 2008. Scotty is also the first 'Idol' winner to debut at #1 since Suben Studdard in 2003. Carrie Underwood's 2006 debut topped the country charts, but only made it to #2 on the Billboard 200. Not only did he throw the microphone into the audience a number of times so fans could sing "If You're Going Through Hell," he also brought 10 year old Andrew on stage to help him sing. Rodney Atkins blew the roof off this at the Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo. Not only did he put on one heck of a performance by singing all his hits, his new music and tributes to Garth Brooks, Chris Ledoux and Charlie Daniels, but he's a really nice guy too. He took some time to sign autographs after the show, before he got back on his bus to go home and celebrate Father's Day with his kids.
