Port Leyden native Garth Callahan, better known as the Napkin Notes dad, doesn't know how long he has to live. What he does know, is he's thankful for the life he does have and how to make it matter.

Port Leyden native Garth Callaghan is the napkin note dad and his story is so inspiring it's been turned into a book and will soon become a movie. Callaghan has been leaving notes in his daughter Emma’s lunch every day, since kindergarten. After being diagnosed with cancer, he wrote enough notes to last until Emma graduates, since it’s likely he won’t be around to see it.

Garth Callaghan, who grew up in Port Leyden, has been leaving napkin notes in his daughter Emma's lunch since she started school. He may not be around when she graduates because of his kidney cancer, so he's written 826 notes to last until her graduation.
