I'm a walker, not a runner, and from what I'm told, a brisk walk is good for your health. I like to walk because it doesn't take much equipment or expense - just a good pair of sneakers and warm clothing if it's cold outside. Today is "National Walking Day".

Lack of Exercise Tops Parents List of Kids Health Worries

Maybe it's just because I'm getting older but it didn't seem that lack of exercise was a big worry for my parents or my friends parents when I was a kid. Are you a fan of Krispy Kreme donuts? If not, why not? They are glazed and a little piece of heaven. However, I wouldn’t call them exercise food. Students at the North Carolina State University will disagree with that.

Bird Works Out on Mall Escalator [VIDEO]

I go to the gym three or four times a week and an essential part of my routine is a 30 minute stint on the treadmill. Apparently fitness programs are no longer just for humans witness this bird doing his best to get in shape for a long flight south this winter on a shopping mall escalator.

New Fitness Programs For Women Gaining Popularity

I'm not exactly a gym "rat" but I do work out 3-4 times a week which gives me certain insights. One thing I have noticed is that there are far more over 30 men working out than over 30 women. One reason may be that more and more women are forgoing the traditional workout regimens in lieu of new, innovative fitness programs.
