With lots of clouds forecast for the next few days, we might not see the full Supermoon on Tuesday night, nor the meteor shower that is to peak on the same evening.  If it is clear, the brightness of the moon may lessen the view of the "shooting stars" as well.

According to Space.com,  this meteor shower would be one the best of 2016, with nearly 120 in the sky each hour.  The annual meteor display is known as "December's Geminids," and will peak at the same time the moon is brightest.

If you already have your calendar for next year, you may want to mark December 14th as the date for the Geminids.  That display of meteors is expected to be very visible with no bright moonlight to compete with.
