Two words to describe the start of the holiday weekend weather - Rainy and Warm, but not a complete washout.
An area of low pressure currently developing over the Great Lakes will be our main weather maker to start the weekend. This system will drag a cold front through Upstate and Central New York Saturday night. However, before the front passes, Saturday looks to be rainy but warm and humid with temperatures in the 80's. Those showers and thunderstorms will continue through Saturday night, before ending by early Sunday morning.

Sunday looks to be less humid and a bit cooler. Temperatures across most of Upstate NY will be in the mid and upper 70's.

The National Weather Service extended forecast for the July 4th holiday looks to be partly sunny and comfortable, with temperatures in the 70's.

Overall, the holiday weekend weather looks unsettled but outdoor plans should definitely not be cancelled,
