The Niche organization has released the list of the Top 100 Public Schools in New York State and New Hartford was one of four schools in the region to make the list.

Niche Inc. "offers rankings and statistics on every neighborhood and city in the U.S. to help people find the best places to live, visit, and raise a family."  According to their website, Niche "...is obsessed with providing students, families, and professionals with best-in-class content and deep insight into big life decisions," such as which schools provide the best opportunity for America's children.

New Hartford ranked 87th on the list and was the only local school to break the Top 100.  Fayetteville-Manlius, Jamesville-Dewitt and Skaneateles of the Syracuse area also made the list.

New Hartford received the following grades:

  • Academics -  A
  • Health & Fitness -  B+
  • Student Culture and Diversity -  B+
  • Teachers -  A-
  • Resources and Facilities -  A-
  • Sports and Fitness -   A
The top school in New York was Stuyvesant High School in New York City.
