NBC has announced plans for a new Michael J. Fox sitcom this fall.  Appropriately named, "The Michael J. Fox Show," the show will air on Monday nights and will confront his Parkinson's Disease head on.  Click to watch a trailer for the show.

Fox's character, Mike Henry, is a former news anchor who retired after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.  After 5 years and some encouragement from family and friends, he returns to his old job.  The show will use some of the diseases effects in a comedic way.  If the trailer is any indication, the show will have a somewhat reality feel to it with the actors speaking directly to the camera at times.

Fox is joined by some other familiar faces in his new project: The sitcom also stars "Breaking Bad's" Betsy Brandt as Fox's wife Annie, and "Treme's" Wendell Pierce as his boss, Harris Green. NBC has ordered a full season of the show, which premieres this fall.
