Hard to think winter is nearing when temperatures are forecast to be 70 today and 80 tomorrow. But we all know how fickle CNY weather can be. Cornell Cooperative Extension says planning now for winter feeding of calves is important.

CCE will be hosting a webinar, "Baby It’s Cold Outside, Winter Calf Care" Oct 26th from 12:30-1:15 pm.  Little ones need extra care when the weather turns cold. This webinar will review:

  • Cold weather nutritional needs
  • How to keep calves fed and growing
  • Health concerns when the temperature drops
  • Keeping them clean and dry at calving and beyond

You don't have to register for the webinar, for more information on how to access the webinar contact Marylynn at 315-736-3394 ext. 132.  One great thing about webinars is you can access them anytime at CCE's website.  Here's more information on Managing Dairy Calves and Heifers in winter.
