Four days before the high school graduation ceremony at Thornton Fractional North High School in Chicago, the school lost its homecoming king and star quarterback 18-year-old Aaron Dunigan. How did the school handle the graduation ceremony? By honoring the boys mother and letting her walk at graduation for him.

The Today Show reports Dunigan was heading home after prom early when two classmates car crossed a median and crashed into another vehicle. The accident not only killed 18 year old Dunigan, it killed a 56-year old driver of the other car.

Aaron's mother was accompanied by his father who wore a black shirt with his son's name and football number on the back.
