Facebook Message Warning Users Not to Accept Jayden K Smith Friend Request is Fake

Have you received the Facebook message warning you to not accept a friend request from Jayden K. Smith because he's a hacker and could give your computer a virus? It's been sent to me more than a dozen times in the past several days and although I appreciate the warning, it's not true.

If you haven't gotten a message, here's what's being sent around.

Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept Jayden K. Smith friendship request. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it.

It's a long-running hoax, according to Snopes.com. The message is the same one that's been going around for years, the names just change. This time it's Jayden K Smith, no relation to Will Smith's son by the way.

An e-mail message or a link posted on Facebook might carry a virus that could corrupt your computer but a friend request won't.
