Are you an amateur or professional drone filmmaker? If so, you may have the chance to win up to $250 as part of the New York State Fair's first-ever drone video competition. Participants are competing for three prize levels, gold, silver and bronze medals in eight categories. They include sports and landscapes, and a separate category for films shot in New York State.

There will be eight gold-medal winning films which will be screened during the fair. From the eight, judges from the panel will chose the Best of Show and the filmmaker will be awarded the $250 prize and a plaque.

Videos are being accepted until July 31st and can be sent to the NYS Drone Film Festival. All winning selections will be announced August 16.

Submission fees are as follows: 

$5 for students, ages 21 and under
$20 for other filmmakers
$50 for corporate/industrial/business entries

Videos must be no more than 5 minutes long, except for videos submitted to the corporate/industrial or business category. Those should be no more than 10 minutes.
