Alan Jackson is an unabashed country music traditionalist and this is readily apparent in his choice of the Johnny Cash classic “Ring of Fire” to be the first new single off of his “34 Number Ones” CD. A longtime fan of Johnny Alan reveals another “Cash Classic” he could have just as easily recorded.The song “Ring of Fire” was written by June Carter Cash at a point early in her relationship with Johnny and expressed the mixed feeling of being involved in a difficult romantic situation. It was also prominently featured in the Johnny-June biopic “I Walk the Line”.
