ACM New Artist of the Year

The Academy of Country Music is letting you help pick the New Artist of the Year for this year's awards show. The field has been narrowed to 8 semifinalists and your vote will choose the final 3. Who do you think should win?

The 8 semifinalists are: Lee Brice, Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett and Parmalee. And if your first question is "Why is Justin Moore in this category?" here's the criteria for The New Artist of the Year Award.

This award is presented to an outstanding male vocalist, female vocalist, vocal duo or vocal group in the country music industry who gains either initial fame or significantly greater recognition through their efforts during the prior calendar year of November 29, 2012 to November 27, 2013. The artist(s) must have success in digital media; in addition to having charted a single in the Top 40.

Voting opens at noon today (1/21) and runs through 3 p.m. February 4. Here's where to vote.
