Thought by many to be one of the greatest players - and people of all time, Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 90.

The Hall of Fame catcher, who served in the United States Navy during World War II before going to the major leagues, played with the New York Yankees for 18 years out of his 19-year-long career.

He played for a record ten World Series championships with the New York Yankees..

According to the Associated Press, his family has issued a statement saying, "While we mourn the loss of our father. grandfather and great-grandfather, we know he is at peace with Mom."
