Woman Killed In Route 49 Crash

An 84-year-old New Hartford woman was killed in a head-on crash on Route 49.

State Police say Dorothy Battelene was traveling westbound at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday August 3rd, but for an unknown reason crossed into the eastbound lanes and was headed in the wrong direction. She was killed when her vehicle crashed into a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
