Ever since a controversial "GQ Magazine" interview, Phil "The Duck Commander" Robertson has been in the media spotlight.

In the popular magazine interview with Drew Magary, Robertson makes comments against gay marriage and the homosexual lifestyle. He also makes comments in regards to Jim Crow laws and African Americans. Many people have come out in support of Phil Robertson and the whole Duck Dynasty family. Many more have come out against him. Theses comments almost cost him a spot on the show.

I recently saw a mini-documentary that I wish to share with you. It's from the I Am Second website . According to their website,

I am Second is a movement meant to inspire people of all kinds to live for God and for others. Actors. Athletes. Musicians. Business leaders. Drug addicts. Your next-door neighbor. People like you.

I Am Second has many of these mini-docs. Some of their films in the series include one highlighting MLB star Albert Pujols and Actor Stephen Baldwin. The film that features the Robertson's is quite interesting. It features four members of the Robertson clan. The highlight is Phil the Father and head of the pack. Also included in the film are Phil's wife Marsha Kay, Phil's youngest son Jep, and his grandson Reed Robertson.

This film digs deep into the rough past of this family and hardships they have faced for three generations. Phil talks about his former life of alcoholism, infidelity, and cruelty. His son Jep talks about his life of former heavy and dangerous drug use. The video concludes with Phil's grandson Reed, son of Jase Robertson, talking about his close encounter with suicide due to the life of fame his family acquired. Whatever your opinion is of Phil and his Duck Commander family, this film is worth watching. It gives some insight into what life has been like for the Duck Dynasty stars. Enjoy!
