A & E TV Network has reinstated Phil Robertson, the father of the Duck Dynasty Empire. Robertson had been suspended indefinitely following comments he made in a 'GQ' interview that were released December 18.  FOX News reports A & E reversed that decision late this afternoon (12/27).  Click for details.

A & E was quick to suspend Robertson, after many activist groups protested his comments regarding 'gay relationships' in the interview.  However many political figures including Sarah Palin and Louisiana's Governor began to show their support along with the shows 13+ million viewers.

“While Phil's comments made in the (GQ) interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’"

According to FOX, A & E reversed their decision after speaking with 'Robertson family members and advocacy groups.'  The show was scheduled to begin filming their 5th season, but following the suspension other Robertson family member said they wouldn't continue the show without Phil.

Earlier Cracker Barrel reversed their decision to remove Duck Dynasty merchandise after an uproar from the shows fans.
