Farming isn't necessarily hundreds of acres and a huge herd of animals.  There's operations in all shapes and sizes and if you're thinking of starting one, Cornell Cooperative Extension will show you what you need to know.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County is hosting an Aspiring Farmers Academy.  The two day seminar will be held in Morrisville starting the evening of Friday, October 7 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm, followed by a full-day program on October 8th, 8:30am-3:30pm.

This academy is designed specifically for those who are interested or have just recently started a farm.  Topics will include:

  • business planning
  • marketing
  • financial planning
  • local resources available

There's a $50 registration fee and covers all materials and meals.  Get more details and register online . Or contact Katherine Brosnan at 315-684-3001 ext. 100 or email kmb279@cornell.edu.
