The Karate Kid 1983 First Audition

It was almost 30 years ago Mr Miyagi told Daniel San to wax on, wax off.  The Karate Kid director John Avildsen has put together audition tapes with Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elizabeth Shue from 1983.

Pat did his audition first in California. Ralph did his in New York City a few weeks later. Avildsen says he 'felt they were both just right for their roles.' The audition period went on for several weeks before Pat and Ralph were officially offered the roles.  The rest as they say, is history.
