We all have childhood memories of holidays, and I have vivid recollections about Thanksgiving Day. The "Frog Days of Fall" are gradually blending into the Christmas season, once Thanksgiving has passed. So, while we are still in the Thanksgiving mode, here are some of my childhood Thanksgiving memories.

I remember:

...my father being home from work, peeling potatoes in the kitchen.

...watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV.

...getting excited when Santa Claus arrived at the end of the Macy's Parade.

...asking my mother for just a fork full of stuffing, and then another one.

...asking "when do we eat?"

...my grandparents and other relatives sitting around the table, and all actually getting along.

....football on TV.

...the start of the Christmas special TV shows later that night

...my mother warming up the leftover turkey and fixings at 5 p.m. for supper, just three hours after we ate them at 2 p.m.
