When one child was turned away from a school dance, the city of Rome turned up the music. The community came together to throw a celebration filled with dancing, joy, and kindness—proving sometimes the best response is simply love.

When a school policy kept a young girl from attending her much-anticipated dance, it left her in tears—and the community ready to act. What began as disappointment has turned into a powerful display of compassion, as local families, businesses, and volunteers have come together to give her, and others who felt left out, a night to remember.

Who says the arts are dead? Whether it be visual art or performance art there is a continual growth in interest by young people and beyond to explore avenues to express themselves. One local art gallery is getting a huge final boost to do renovations to a very specific space in their building.

The Armstrong School of Dance will be featured in this years parade. Director Karen Armstrong Gorsky was first invited to the parade and has been invited back every year since.
