Soldiers serving overseas are getting some Christmas love from students at Fonda-Fultonville school. Care packages were sent to the men and women in Afghanistan, who won't make it home for the holidays.

"I received a care package today from you and the middle school kids,” Aaron Gonzalez wrote to teacher Samantha Stead, the Student Council advisor. “I can't explain how much my coworkers and I appreciate things like this. I love the support from everyone. This has made my day. You have no idea."

SSG Bobbi Bains wrote, “I would like to personally thank you and your students for sending my coworker SFC Gonzalez the package of Christmas cookies. I especially liked the pumpkin ones! We really appreciate the thought and consideration that was put into your gift to us. Have a Merry Christmas and pass along the thanks to your students. They rock! We really enjoyed the drawings on the cards.”
