Instead of spending your Black Friday in a long line fighting for discounts or in a turkey induced coma - how about heading outside and enjoying nature?

This Friday, November 25, all New York State Parks will waive their traditional vehicle entry fees in favor of getting you and the kids outside.

Rather than the stress of Black Friday sales and crowds, the tranquility of nature might just be a better way to spend the day after you gave thanks for all that you have.

Plus, a nice brisk hike is the perfect thing to burn off the calories from Aunt Tilly's Green Bean Casserole and Mom's Apple Pie!

Some New York State Parks also have several special events planned for the day, and you can find the full schedule at NYSParks.com.
