One of the most common allergies that you can have is to dairy. In fact, more than half of all people (65%) have an intolerance to cow's milk and its' products. Bustle, and Dr. Neeta Ogden, M.D., explain that there are signs you might be allergic to dairy that you might not catch.

  • Coughing and wheezing should always be taken seriously as symptom for something worse as the restriction of your airway passage could be a sign of anaphylaxis. If you have any food allergy, it's usually best to keep an Epipen on hand just in case you accidentally come into contact with the foods that you can't have and have a severe reaction.
  • Facial flushing making you look like you're embarrassed can be the result of your immune system inflaming your skin while it works hard to fight whatever allergen that has entered your system that it doesn't like. A rise in temperature is also usually associated with this as well.
  • Abdominal cramps is common with lactose intolerance. If you experience stomach pains regularly, it is probably best to visit an allergist and see if you are allergic to dairy or other food allergens.

If you're noticing any changes in your body after eating dairy-laden foods at all, it is always best to get in touch with your doctor and see what they recommend and if an allergy test is necessary.
