Be a Santa for a Senior & Make Sure No One in CNY is Forgotten This Holiday Season
It's that time of year. Santa for Seniors is back for 2023 to make sure no one in Central New York is forgotten during the holiday season. Can you help?
Seniors need to know they aren't forgotten. That's why we teamed up with the Oneida County Office for Aging and Slocum Dickson Medical Group for our annual Santa For Seniors. Here's how you can help.
Santa for Seniors
In many cases, these seniors have no family left in the area and are surviving on a very limited income. With your help, we can make sure they have something to smile about on Christmas Day.
Featured Seniors & Codes
Each day we'll feature Central New York seniors and their Christmas wish lists. We'll even highlight their interests, favorite colors, and clothing sizes.
Due to confidentiality laws, full names can not be disclosed. Specific codes are assigned to each senior so we know the right gift gets to the right senior.
Each code must be MARKED ON EVERY GIFT IN PERMANENT MARKER.
Email Options
You don't have to wait for us to mention a senior on the air, message us anytime and just let us know "I want to be a Santa for a Senior." You can also reach out on the Big Frog 104 app. Just send us a text.
We can do it via e-mail as well, just drop a note to: Polly@BigFrog104.com. If you don't receive an email, check your spam folder. Many say they are finding the response there.
Many offices and families combine their efforts to adopt several seniors. We can provide all the information in an email to get you started on shopping for the holiday season.
Delivering Gifts
Gifts MUST BE dropped off at the Office for Aging office this year at 120 Airline Street in Oriskany, near the old county airport. Large bins will be set up in the front entrance and back dock of the Office For Aging to drop gifts in Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
There is no entry into the Office For Aging building and no weekend drop-off.
You can also drop off your senior gifts at our office on River Road in Marcy Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
If you don't or can't deliver your gifts in person, you can mail them to:
Oneida County Office for the Aging
120 Airline St, Suite 201
Oriskany, NY 13424
Deadline
The deadline to get gifts in has been extended to DECEMBER 11.
With your help, we can make sure everyone has a smile this Christmas.
