Running Backs Rule Luke’s Week 3 Fantasy Football Favorites
Your week three fantasy football questions are in and Luke has his favorites picked out. Here's your fantasy favorites for week 3.
Week two went pretty well, so let's see if we can keep it going.
Your Questions
Christian McCaffery or Devonta Freeman - if you're in a PPR league go with McCaffery here. He's always a threat out of the Panthers backfield, especially with a banged up Cam Newton not making a ton of downfield plays yet this year.
Randall Cobb, Chris Hogan or Larry Fitzgerald - I say go with Cobb. He's been producing a ton in Green Bay and Hogan is banged up. If you can use Larry Fitz as a flex or 3rd WR, he's not a bad option against a bad Cowboys Defense, but Cobb against the Bengals is the start here.
Luke's Favorites To Start Week 3
A.J. Green, Bengals WR - the Bengals are having a terrible year, but that doesn't mean Green won't get any touches. They'll have to throw the ball a lot, meaning Green should get a lot of touches. Look for at least 5 catches and 80 yards.
Theo Riddick and Ameer Abdullah, Lions RB's - Detroit has been 100% in the red zone this season and Atlanta has given up over 20 fantasy points to pass catching RB's this year. You're welcome haha.
Jonathan Stewart and Christian McCaffery, Panthers RB's - Cam Newton is banged up so look for the Panthers to lean on the running game. Go with Stewart for a pure RB as he'll get more touches on the ground, but like I said above use McCaffery in your PPR leagues.
Carson Wentz, Eagles QB - Wentz is off to a great start and while the Giants Defense is their best asset, the Eagles tend to have the G-Men's number. Wentz is a solid play this week.
Jay Cutler, Miami QB - He may be Jay Cutler, but he's playing the Jets. Enough said.
Phillip Rivers, Chargers QB - Rivers always seems to be down 2 TD's in the 4th quarter meaning he's going to throw the ball a lot. If you don't get penalized for interceptions in your league start Rivers.
Ty Montgomery, Packers RB - My best prediction from last week carries over into week 3. Montgomery is a beast catching passes out of the backfield and has shown he can run the ball too. Look for him to have a big game against the Bengals.
Who To Sit In Week 3
Mark Ingram, Saints RB - Ingram is playing a Panthers Defense that has let up the 2nd most fantasy points to running backs this season. You should expect the Saints to abandon the run early if they get behind.
Alshon Jeffery, Eagles WR - while I said to start Wentz, Jeffery is set to be matched up against Janoris Jenkins who is playing like a Hall of Famer. Don't expect much production from Jeffery this week.
Once again sit or stay away from the Colts. If you've seen them play this year you know why. If you haven't, just trust me.
Sit your Jets as well. Unless you drafted Bilal Powell high, I recommend avoiding playing any and all Jets. Even Jermaine Kearse, his 2 TD's last week won't be a regular occurrence.
Those are my favorites for week 3. As usual I'll be back on Tuesday to admit to any mistakes I made.
