Rome Police Officer Spends Vacation Helping Families in Africa
Most of us take vacation to relax and enjoy time for ourselves. A Rome police officer took vacation to help others.
Stacie Skidmore is in Africa providing clean water and education. "Handed out water filters to 80 families," Stacie shared on social media. The filters will last African families 10 years. "That's 292,000 days with clean water."
It's all part of Aya Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and education of rural communities. Officer Skidmore also helped deliver 200 mensuration kits during the Days for Girls project and even helped demonstrate.
Stacie is our 'Hometown Hero' for doing more than helping in her own community. And spending her vacation to do it!
