Check your meat. Over 35,000 pounds of ground beef is being recalled. JBS USA, Inc., a North Carolina company, is recalling the ground beef after it was discovered the meat may be contaminated with hard plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The recalled beef was shipped to Kroger stores and has an establishment number “EST. 34176” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered after someone found blue, hard plastic pieces in one of the products. There have been no reports of health problems from the beef. But FSIS is concerned some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers.

If you have the contaminated beef, you're advised to throw it out or return it where you bought it.
