Local Pet Owners Urged To Check Shelves After Dog Food Recall

It seems like a weekly occurrence at this point, but Central New York pet owners are once again being asked to check their shelves.

This comes after another dog food brand issued a voluntary recall due to potential metal contamination.

The company Fromm Family Food made the announcement on August 21st.

Recall Details

Fromm recalled select varieties of its canned wet dog food following customer complaints regarding metal contamination.

If you have purchased either of these products, you are asked to stop using them immediately.

What To Watch For

Because of the metal contamination, if your dog has ingested any of the food under recall, there are some symptoms to be on the lookout for.

• Lacerations of the mouth
• Stomach discomfort
• Vomiting

• Choking
• Loss of appetite
• Partial or complete intestinal blockages

If you have purchased any of the foods under recall, immediately check your pantry and stop feeding the affected canned varieties to your pets.

You can return the recalled products to the neighborhood pet store or online retailer where they were purchased.

Based on the company's website, the foods affected could have been sold at local pet food and supply retailers in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Otsego and Onondaga counties.
