Have you ever heard of The Fort Stanwix National Bank Of Rome? For over 32 years, between 1865 -1896, Rome printed $1,063,740 dollars worth of national currency. Today, that currency is extremely rare and valuable. 

After doing a quick web search, you will find out how rare it is to find currency from the bank today:

During its life, The Fort Stanwix National Bank Of Rome issued 11 different types and denominations of national currency. The Fort Stanwix National Bank Of Rome in New York printed $1,063,740 dollars worth of national currency. Over $1,000,000 face value is a lot of money. However, some types and denominations of currency from this bank could still be rare.”

Imagine this: this bank in Rome was responsible for over 11,660 sheets of $1 national bank notes, 11,660 sheets of $2 national bank notes, 10,900 sheets of $5 national bank notes, 2,070 sheets of $10 national bank notes, and 2,070 sheets of $20 national bank notes. Of course the bank printed other bills through-out it’s run as well.

At this moment, a location is unknown to this author. Many different websites just list “Oneida County” as a location. Also, if you’re looking to buy these notes, get ready to drop some major coin. One is currently up for bid on eBay.
