Police Warn of Hostage Scam in Central New York

The latest scam to hit central New York prays on our worst fears; the possibility of losing a loved one.

Several residents are getting calls from someone saying they have a hostage and will kill them if they don't pay. The calls are coming from Puerto Rico.

Cicero police say the 911 center has received several reports about the scam.
