It's another case of a vehicle not "moving over" when approaching an emergency scene on the highway. In this case it was a tractor trailer contacting a New York State Police Cruiser. Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the vehicle and the operator as the vehicle didn't stop.

Fortunately there were no injuries as the trooper was outside the cruiser when the accident happened. The incident occurred around 6:46 p.m. Tuesday night, November 17 at milepost 34.5 on Interstate 81 in Broome County.

State Police were assisting the Broome County Sheriff's department with an accident in the northbound lanes. The vehicle was on the right side of the road with emergency lights running when it was sideswiped by the tractor trailer driving in the right hand lane.

Police don't have a description of the tractor trailer, other than saying it "would have extensive damage to the passenger side." Anyone with information should contact New York State Police at Binghamton at (607)775-1241.
