Pedestrian Hit and Killed in Norwich

UPDATE: Gary VanDusen, age 77 of Norwich, New York was walking his dog in an unlit area of State Route 12 in the town of Norwich when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Tony Williamson, age 45 of Bainbridge was traveling west when he struck Mr. VanDusen. He is cooperating with police.

The investigation is on going.

Original Story: A driver hit and killed a pedestrian in Norwich.

New York State Police say the fatal accident happened Monday, July 13th around 10 p.m.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene and was taken to the Lourde's Funeral Home for an autopsy.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with New York State Police Investigators.

The investigation is on-going. State Police will release more information when it's available.
