New York’s Hunting Under the Influence Law Getting Stricter

As currently written, New York law allows you to drink more while hunting than while operating a vehicle. But it's about to change under some proposed legislation.

New York considers you legally drunk if your bac is .08 or higher when operating a car, truck, boat, or snowmobile. And I guess in some cases a lawnmower too. But your not legally hunting under the influence unless your bac number is .1.

A story in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, reports the Assembly's Environmental Committee is proposing a bill to make "hunting under the influence" the same as operating a vehicle. It's part of more than 204 bills proposed by the committee that if passed would impact hunting, fishing, and trapping in the state.  Read more info on the other proposed legislation at Adirondack Daily Enterprise's website.
