It's no question that The New York State Fair has a lot to offer and something to do for everyone. From great food, exciting rides, and great entertainment it's no wonder families from all over the Northeast make it a point to travel to Syracuse every year to enjoy the festivities. Recently, The Great New York State Fair has been named one of the best State Fairs in the Nation by Yahoo! Travel. The announcement came after receiving the top ranking from Hopper.com.

Acting State Fair director Troy Waffner had this to say about the honor,

The Fair has a lot of excitement this year with new exhibits, great concerts featuring international superstars, and a huge focus on New York agriculture. Momentum is clearly on our side and as evidenced by these recent reports, people are taking notice.

The website that ranked the NY State Fair number one described it in this fashion,

Fair attractions, agricultural competitions, technology showcasing and live music performances abound at this, New York’s largest annual celebration of local heritage and culture. Here, the great Grandstand has attracted chart-topping artists for some years, ranging from Justin Bieber to the ‘80s rock band Journey, while the real variety of grounds entertainment makes it one of the most accessible and family friendly fairs this side of America. The Grand New York State Fair runs from late August to early September.

In regards to Country Music, the fair has a remarkably talented line up coming to both the Grand Stand and Chevy Court. There's Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Kellie Pickler!

Not only is the entertainment great, but the farming and agricultural aspect is a big reason this fair is successful as it is. There are animal displays, auctions and competitions. There are also phenomenal dairy displays including butter sculptures, and so much more.

Even though it marks the end of Summer, I am pumped for this year's New York State Fair!
