A new Byrne Dairy shop and gas station could be coming to Oneida.

According to the Oneida Daily Dispatch, the new Byrne Dairy location will be built on over 2.5 acres of property located 412 Genesee Street, which is the former location of the Patio Motel.

Vincent Bailey, owner of Bailey's Property Services says other area gas station chains have expressed interest in the property, but feels Byrne Dairy would be the best tenant. "They are a good, reputable, family owned company."

The current location on Lenox Ave. in Oneida would remain open, even with the opening of the Route 5 store.

In June, 2016 - Byrne Dairy opened their newer, more modern store on Campion Road in New Hartford after closing their former location at the corner of Genesee and Campion Road.
