Take A Class To Learn How To Take Selfies

Need a little work on your selfies? You're not the only one. You can now enroll in a selfie class. Seriously, it's 2015 and this is a real class. 

London's City Lit college is offering a course on Selfies called "The art of self portraiture". Here's the official description on the course:

What is the course about?

The course is a theory/practice introduction to photographic self-portraiture; it is conceived for students to improve their critical understanding of the photographic self-portrait, as well as a platform to develop ideas towards the creation of a coherent body of work.

What will we cover?

- Appreciation and critique of visual work from a variety of practitioners

- Recurrent ideas and concepts that surrounds self portraiture

- Brief enquiry into the notions of identity, selfhood and memory

- Group discussions (informal crits) and project development

- Evaluation of students’ previous photography in relation to the topic

- Final critique of work produced during the course.

What will I achieve?

- Explain ideas of space, place and surrounding issues

- Use light and significant detail in your work to good effect

- Take steps to move forward by using reference points from the course

- Develop new ideas to make your photography more relevant to your aims

- Produce a coherent piece of photographic work surrounding a particular theme

- Approach technical problems with more confidence.

The course costs around $202 American dollars and begins in March, and runs through April. The course is 4 sessions over 4 weeks. Pretty interesting right?
