Starting Sunday, February 22, 2026, New Yorkers will have a brand-new nightly draw game to try their luck with: Millionaire for Life!

What Is Millionaire for Life?

Millionaire for Life is a new multistate lottery game launching in New York that gives players a daily shot at $1 million a year for life. The second-tier prize is nothing to poo poo either, $100,000 a year for life.

Winners can choose guaranteed annual payments for at least 20 years or opt for a one-time discounted lump sum.

Drawings take place every night at 11:15 p.m., with tickets for the first drawing available starting at 5 a.m. on February 22.

How Do You Play Millionaire for Life in New York?

Each play costs $5. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 58 and one Millionaire Ball number from 1 to 5.

You don’t have to match all the numbers to walk away with cash. Prizes begin when you match just one white ball plus the Millionaire Ball, or by matching two white balls. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.47, which is better than many traditional draw games.

At the top of the prize chart, matching all five numbers plus the Millionaire Ball wins the $1 million-a-year-for-life jackpot. Matching all five numbers without the Millionaire Ball earns $100,000 a year for life, with additional prize levels offering smaller cash payouts.

How Millionaire for Life Supports New York Schools

Beyond the obvious appeal of life-changing money, the game also supports a bigger purpose. According to the New York Lottery, lottery proceeds continue to benefit public education across the state.

In the 2024–2025 fiscal year alone, the New York Lottery contributed $3.6 billion to support schools throughout New York State. Millionaire for Life joins an already robust lineup of draw games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, New York Lotto, Take 5 and Pick 10.
