We should celebrate donuts everyday or at least that's one guys opinion.  Today is National Donut Day and before you think it's just some commercial racket, it actually has ties to the Salvation Army and wounded soldiers.  Click for details on where you can get a free donut.

National Donut Day always falls on the first Friday in June, this year coinciding with the anniversary of D-Day.  The tradition dates back to World War and a doctor who brought donuts to wounded soldiers.  The Salvation Army kept the tradition alive by bringing them to soldiers in the field in France.

Dunkin' Donuts is giving away a free donut with any beverage purchase throughout the day.  Do you have a favorite donut?  Do you like it with cream or jelly or just plain? Share your favorite at the bottom.
