The USDA announced tons of ground beef was being recalled amid concerns over E Coli contamination. At first, the recall was for meat shipped to Publix stores in Florida, now comes the news about nationwide shipping concerns.  Here's a list of stores that accepted shipments.

The ground beef was processed and packaged at Cargill Meat Solutions of Colorado in June with "sell by/freeze by" date of July 11. New Yorkers should be concerned about nationwide shipments that went to Target and Meijer stores. If you have family and friends elsewhere in the country, here are the other stores and states involved in the recall:

  • Aldi Stores in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin
Sam's Club Stores in North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia
Safeway/Albertson's Stores in California, Colorado, and Hawaii
    Vons Stores in California
    FoodMaxx Stores in California
Pak N Save Stores in California

Check packaging and labels for the code "EST. 86R."
