Here comes the snow but how much you'll see depends on where you live. The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning and Advisory for most of Central and Upstate New York.

Lake Effect Snow Advisory

Counties: Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison, Southern Oneida, Cortland, Chenango and Otsego

Timing: 10pm Thurday to 7am Saturday with the heavier snow coming Friday morning before tapering off on Saturday.

Accumulations: 4 to 8 inches with much of the snowfall occurring Friday and Friday night. The higher elevations in Southern Onondaga and Southern Madison counties will see the most snowfall.

Lake Effect Snow Warning

Counties: Jefferson and Lewis counties, Tug Hill region

Timing: now until 6am Friday

Accumulations: 4 to 7 inches today and 7 to 14 inches tonight, with totals of 10 to 20 inches. 1 to 2 inches of snow could fall per hour
