Hold that Tot! Mr. Potato Head isn't going anywhere. He's just getting a new family.

Hasbro announced they were rebranding the iconic toys to just 'Potato Head' to better reflect the full line, sending the social media world into a frenzy.

But the company promised the iconic Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters won't be going anywhere and will remain Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. They are just adding to the Potato Head family.

This Fall, Hasbro will add a 'Create Your Potato Head Family' box set to celebrate the many faces of families, allowing kids to imagine and create their own Potato Head family. The box set comes with 2 large potato bodies, 1 small potato body, and 42 accessories. "The possibilities to create your own families are endless with mixing and mashing all the parts and pieces," the company announced in a press release.

The new box set will be an addition to Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, not a replacement. "While it was announced that the Potato Head brand name and logo are dropping the ‘Mr.’ I yam proud to confirm Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head aren’t going anywhere and will remain Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, Hasbro announced on Twitter.

Brooklyn inventor, George Lerner created Mr. Potato Head in 1949 and the iconic toy was 'born' in 1952 when Hasbro put it on the market. Mrs. Potato Head came out a year later. And now the Potato Heads have a new family, to match how that family looks in your household.
