Hapeman Family Loses Over 50 Animals In Barn Fire
A devastating fire destroyed the High Ridge Farm on Timmerman Road in Little Falls before 2017 came to a close. Young farmer Dylan Hapeman lost his barn, his equipment, his 40 cows, 10 cats, and 2 dogs.
The community is getting together to raise money through GoFundMe to help this family out. A goal of $10,000 has been set, and already over $8,000 have been donated.
We can't even begin to imagine what the family is going through. We are told by friends and family that Dylan poured himself into this farm.
Talking to a friend, Dylan noted that "somehow, a barn and equipment can be replaced. But not the friends inside that barn."
Dylan has always wanted to be a farmer. Over the years he's steadily pursued his dream of farming, pouring himself into this hard work and life. This set back has been a hard one for him and his wife Lauren.
Whether out on the tractor or caring for his cows, Dylan is what the future needs: dedicated, intelligent, thoughtful, kind and compassionate farmers.
Every donation helps them move through this tragedy. The Times Telegram reports that other than the animals, there were two silos on the property as well. One was three-quarters full and the other was empty.
