A new bill has passed in the New York State Senate that promotes the purchase of state-produced foods. I always try to buy foods and beverages produced in the Empire State, and I'm sure you do as well.

According to our sister station, WIBX:

"New York’s agribusinesses are getting another boost, thanks to the state Senate’s passing of the “Buy From the Backyard Act.”

Co-sponsored by Senator Jim Seward, the bill requires state agencies with food contracts, such as prisons and universities, to buy at least 20 percent of their food from New York sources."

The bill is not law yet. For where it goes from here, visit wibx950.c0m
