Forget Parking and Traffic Woes Take a Train to The New York State Fair

The New York State Fair continues to add parking places and expand lots to accommodate the growing number of visitors. But another option you may want to consider is taking a train. It could be more affordable than you think with the kids ride free deal.

Amtrak has been adding a stop at the State Fair since 2002 at Gate 11 on State Fair Boulevard.  This year they are offering Kids Ride Free, for every adult fare 1 kid rides free. If you are traveling the Thruway, by the time you add tolls, parking, and gas it may be about the same cost, plus a huge saving in the aggravation department.

There are a few restrictions like you have to book 3 days in advance, and there's no service on August 30. Get more info and book your trip at Amtrak.com.
