Forget Brunch, Here’s Where You Can Get Your Mommy Drunk On Mother’s Day
If your Mom is anything like mine, she knows(thinks) her home cooking is better than any restaurant and she also loves to tip back a few. So why not take Mom out and get her sauced up on Mother's Day instead of a stuffy brunch.
Here are a few places in Central New York where Mom can have a few great drinks and enjoy a nice atmosphere with family at the same time.
Woodland Farm Brewery - Marcy
Woodland crafts their unique beer using New York State ingredients, and they have a style for everyone. Wether Mom like a lighter beer, a stout or a more sour saison, Woodland will have something she will love. Grab a pint and sit out on Woodland's patio that overlooks the Mohawk Valley and spend some time telling Mom how much you love her.
Brewery Ommegang - Cooperstown
Take Mom sightseeing and to a nice lunch in Cooperstown, then bring her to Brewery Ommegang for one of their specialty Belgian-style brews. The outdoor bar and seating area is the perfect setting for a few Mother's Day beers.
Wakely's On Varick - Utica
The newest bar in town is actually a speakeasy! Wakely's has a relaxed and upscale atmosphere with more than just beer. Grab Mom her favorite drink, or get the password to the Bourbon room and sample some of the best Bourbon from all over the world together!
Beardslee Castle - Little Falls
What better way to make Mom feel like a Queen then getting her drunk in an actual castle? Beardslee has great dinner specials too, but after that head down to the 'dungeon' for a couple drinks and a Mother's Day that will not soon be forgotten.
The Stief - Utica
If your Mom is more of a party animal, The Stief on Varick Street was recently named the best college bar in Utica. Bring Mom out for a wild night and make sure to get her one of The Stief's famous fishbowls.
Heart Of NY Beverage Trail - Oneida County
Maybe Mom would prefer a little road trip? Make Dad be your designated driver and head out on the Heart of NY Beverage Trail that makes stops at every brewery and winery in Oneida County. Did we mention the trail includes a distillery or two also?
Happy Mother's Day!
